iPhone 17 Air, AirPods Watch unveiled by Apple on Sep 19

Apple’s Sept. 9 “Awe Dropping” event introduced a wave of new products, headlined by the iPhone 17 Air lineup, which officially arrives on shelves this week.

Alongside the latest iPhones, Apple also rolled out refreshed versions of the Apple Watch and AirPods.

Most of the devices have already been available for pre-order, while iOS 26 — the software powering them — launched shortly after the showcase.

iPhone 17 Lineup

Leading the iPhone 17 series is the all-new iPhone 17 Air, which replaces the former Plus model as Apple’s second-tier device. The company is calling it its thinnest iPhone yet.

Measuring just 5.6 millimeters thick—about one-third slimmer than the iPhone 16 Pro—and weighing 165 grams, the iPhone 17 Air strikes a balance between sleekness and strength. As Marc Saltzman noted in his first impressions for USA TODAY, “Despite how thin the phone is, it feels remarkably durable.
